Fuel Management

Itinera helps optimize fuel stops by combining real-time fuel level data from Samsara with Love's fuel pricing.

Uploading Fuel Prices

Love's fuel prices are uploaded via Excel spreadsheets from the Dashboard.

1. Navigate to the Dashboard.
2. Find the Fuel Price Upload widget.
3. Drag and drop a Love's fuel price .xlsx or .xls file, or click to browse.
4. The system imports the data and displays the import date and number of locations loaded.

After uploading, fuel stop pricing becomes available on route detail pages.

Viewing Fuel Stops on a Route

When viewing a route's detail page:

1. Open the Fuel Stops tab in the side panel.
2. Love's fuel stations near the planned route are listed with:
   • City and state
   • Price per gallon (4 decimal places)
   • Distance from the route path
3. Sort the list by:
   • Route — closest to the route path
   • Price — cheapest first
   • Truck — closest to the truck's current GPS position (requires an active truck)
4. Filter by brand or state using the filter chips at the top.
5. Click any fuel stop to highlight it on the map.

A summary footer shows the total number of available stops and the best price.

tip

The fuel gauge displayed at the top of the Fuel Stops tab shows the assigned truck's current fuel level, helping you decide how urgently a fuel stop is needed.

Low Fuel Alerts

The system automatically monitors fuel levels for all active vehicles:

• Threshold: 25% fuel remaining
• Dashboard widget: auto-refreshes every 30 seconds, showing vehicles below threshold with driver name and route number
• Notifications page: active fuel alerts listed with the current fuel percentage
• Telegram: automated alert messages sent to the configured Telegram chat

Fuel alerts resolve automatically when the vehicle refuels above the threshold.
